Week 2: Double Duty

Perhaps it is the curse of all women to never be able to do only ONE thing at a time. But I find that propping a good book up in the window works wonders on motivating me to work on that pile of dishes. (It's Madeleine L'Engle's "A Circle of Quiet" today, if you are wondering.)

Also, I reserve the right now to post more than one picture a week. Not that I really expect that to happen a lot, but I figure I should have an out, just in case. :D

What a great way to make, what I think is a very unpleasant chore, into something a lot more tolerable!

It always amazes me the ingenuity we readers come up with to always have a book at hand (eye?) Thanks for the fun pix and commentary...

I love how you've captured "the moment"... Your photo depicts so beautifully the concept of dovetailing--which is such a large part of a mom's daily life--as well as the wonderful power of books to transport us to other places and experiences. The book propped up in the window, held open by the watering can, is not just artistic, but also symbolic :o)

Aunt Linda and Tracy, both--SO TRUE! We read whatever we do and whatever we do is made more tolerable by reading! :D

And, Mum, thanks for finding the depth in my dumpy kitchen sink. :)
